Absorption filters may be neutral or spectrally selective. While spectral characteristics are customarily shown for a 1mm thickness, the filters themselves are usually made thicker to minimize transmission differences caused by small variations in thickness occurring in manufacture. There are many types of absorption glass: such as blue glass, red glass, orange glass, green glass, yellow glass, black glass....

Blue Glass It can absorb part red, orange, and yellow light. And transmit blue light. It is used as a filter in visual camera or monitor.
Black Glass It can absorb the wavelength of most visible light. Reduce visible light transmittance and make the glass looks dark (black). However it passes the Infra Red Light and widely used in remote controller.
